LEARN MORE

For one of the world’s largest biotechnology companies, I led the concept and design of an immersive welcome center experience that celebrated the science and the minds shaping the future of healthcare. Built from the ground up, the space combined large-format LED walls, Multi-Taction touch tables, and interactive storytelling to transform complex scientific innovation into moments of clarity and connection.

Creative Direction

Rather than designing something simply beautiful, I set out to create a visual system that felt authentically scientific—one that reflected the world our audience lived in and the brilliance of their work. Inspired by the microscopic worlds they study every day, I rooted our design strategy in glass, cell biology, and fluid motion. My fascination with the unseen—patterns found in mold, mushrooms, and microorganisms—became the foundation for a design language that reflected the beauty of science at work. This direction guided everything from the motion behavior on the LED wall to the layered transparency of the interface, creating a cohesive visual environment that celebrated discovery on both a human and molecular scale.

Science Theater

This was a dual-experience installation featuring a 30′ LED wall and a Multi-Taction Table array that brought the company’s ongoing research and discoveries to life. Designed as a multi-user, interactive experience, it invited guests to explore the scientific achievements unfolding on campus every day. By applying principles of game design
and behavioral storytelling, we created moments of surprise and discovery that deepened connection and understanding. Built in Unity and powered by custom fiducials, the experience extended our fluid visual system into every interaction—transforming complex science into an experience that felt both human and inspiring.

The theater was a two-experience installation comprised of a 30′ LED wall and a Multi-Taction Table array that displayed content on the wall.

Heritage Table

This piece turned fifty years of scientific achievement into a living archive—part digital exhibit, part interactive playground. Built in Unity, the Multi-Taction array supported both touch and fiducial inputs, creating an experience that adapted to different interaction styles without losing coherence.
Scientists, staff, and guests alike could navigate stories at their own pace, revealing hidden layers of the organization’s history. The interplay between precision and play transformed what could have been a static timeline into a dynamic conversation between people, progress, and design.

Every pixel of the design system was crafted to feel organic—this video was one of many WIP demo's as we built the CMS.

Values Screen

This installation transformed everyday corporate principles into a living, breathing self-guided narrative. Fluid forms echoed the visual language while employee testimonials unfurled like a spiraling DNA sequence—while ambient data like company news, time, and temperature grounded the piece in the rhythm of daily life. By pairing organic animation with purposeful information, the experience turned familiar content into something quietly magnetic.

INNOVATION PILLARS

Two ultra-stretch HD portrait screens created intimate, one-to-one experiences with employees and visitors, bringing the company’s innovation stories to life. Each pillar featured a familiar navigation system, echoing the Multi-Taction arrays, to guide users seamlessly through the space. Narratives were told directly by employees via video interviews, creating an authentic and personal connection. From shaping the visual direction to pressure testing the attractiveness of the narratives, I championed a cohesive experience that celebrated both the people and the groundbreaking work behind the organization’s mission.

"I loved coming to work and seeing the lobby experience. It was the first thing we showed visitors and a common place to grab a coffee with my colleagues."
